The Free School of Bachata is a collective and evolving learning space for bachata dance, founded on horizontal transmission, autonomy, and collective intelligence. Inspired by active learning pedagogies (particularly Montessori and free education), it breaks with the traditional “teacher/student” model to offer an approach where everyone is both learner and teacher, according to their level, experience, and sensibility. In this school, there is no fixed hierarchy or imposed path. Beginners learn from intermediate dancers, intermediate dancers learn from advanced dancers, and experienced dancers deepen their mastery by passing on their knowledge in turn. Progress is made through exchange, observation, practice, and sharing.
